Inspect the actual message
Read the tool’s returned explanation in the existing work. Confirm the intended service and account. A connected account can still have a service limit, unavailable operation or missing permission for a particular action.

Check the boundary
- Open the relevant plugin and inspect its connection and per-tool permissions.
- Confirm the workspace, location, folder or record the request refers to.
- Check that the action is supported, not just that a read succeeded.
- If the service asks for sign-in, use its normal connection flow.
- For an uncertain write, read the destination before repeating the create, send or upload.
Preserve useful work
Keep drafts, accepted assets and the original conversation. Ask the agent what succeeded and what remains, with saved references. Escalate the exact tool message to the success team when the supported recovery does not resolve it.
